DAY 3 : JAN 10th 2023, GIVING ALMS & KUANG SI WATERFALLS

On our 3rd Day in Luang Prabang, we are giving alms at 5am .... set our alarm and by 530am, we started walking towards the Main Street in the early lights of the day... cool breeze... so nice.

got to Main street and already were lined with partly locals and tourists seated on little stools with a basket of their offerings to the monks. We learned that we can buy 20000kip for hot glutinous rice and was even supplied with disposable gloves and a stool.

learning the how & what to do at 530am

the four half-awake MONKies

still waiting..... anytime now...
and the moment the monks in their brilliant saffron clothing appeared out of nowhere, we were so unprepared.... forgot to take off our shoes !! . It was such a hilarious moment of panic & excitement ...all at the same time.

Only Phaih Yean left.....

and of course in the afternoon we must go to the famous KUANG SI FALLS.

This Kuang Si Falls is a three-tiered waterfall about 30km south of Luang Prabang. We got a TukTuk for half a day at 400000kip.  It begins with shallow pools atop a steep hillside. This leads to the main fall with a drop of 60meters.
The waters flows into a turquiose blue pool before continuing downstream. The many cascades are not typical of waterfalls adding to its attractiveness.
The locals charge a minimal fee of 25000kip to visit the site, which is well maintained with walkways and bridges.
